Google이 플랫폼 시장에서 움직이기 시작했습니다.

App Engine라는 이름으로 서비스를 한다고 하는데 벌써 베타 테스터는 차버렸습니다.

기사 내용대라면 500MB Disk, 10GB Data Transfer, 200 million daily cycles of processor use에 해당하는 컴퓨팅 리소스를 무료로 사용할 수 있게 한다고 합니다.

Google App Engine gives you access to the same building blocks that Google uses for its own applications, making it easier to build an application that runs reliably, even under heavy load and with large amounts of data. The development environment includes the following features:
- Dynamic webserving, with full support of common web technologies
- Persistent storage (powered by Bigtable and GFS with queries, sorting, and transactions)
- Automatic scaling and load balancing
- Google APIs for authenticating users and sending email
- Fully featured local development environment

표면적으로는 아마존이 가장 타격이 크겠죠. S3, EC2, SimpleDB등 계속 서비스를 오픈하고 있는 중이 었는데

초기 만명 신청자에게만 공짜로 서비스 제공하는것 같고...
Python만 지원해가지고는 Amazon service에 그렇게 큰 영향을 주지 못할것 같군요...
좀 있으면 Micro$oft도 또 삐질삐질 따라하지 않을까 하는 생각도 들고...-
Google 정도의 영향력이면 Python을 활성화 시킬 수 있을 정도가 아닐까 합니다.
Python을 선택한 것도 보면 Bigtable, GFS 등 Google 내부 플랫폼이 C++로 개발되어 있는데 이 API를 그대로 오픈할 수는 없으니까(사용자가 어려워 하겠죠) C++과 결합이 쉬운 Python을 선택하지 않았나 생각합니다.

준비없이 따라할수 있는 영역은 아닌듯 하군요. 아직 효율적으로 움직일수 있는 이만한 인프라가 없으니까

김형준/ 현재로 봐서는 초반에 맛배기로 공짜로 좀 쓰게해주는것 같은 눈치이고...
차후 유료로 가는 경우 python으로 이전하는것과 Java같이 현재 자기가 가지고 있는 기술 쓰면서 아마존 쓰는것 중 어느쪽이 더 이익일지 따져봐야 되는데...
글쎄요 두고 봐야 겠군요.
typo/ Micro$oft도 이미 구글 규모의 초대형 IDC건설 추진중이라고 들었습니다.
